Stayed that warm over night we slept on top of the bags, try doing that when camping in Devon!!
Up at 6.00 watching the sun rise and light up the cliffs of a near by island in the most amazing deep orange / red.
Packed up and settled the bill, 160 Kuna not cheap considering the facilities but great views.
On the road for 8.10 we rode into The centre of Senj and picked up the road that connects with the A1, the main motorway that runs along the length of Croatia. We decided to take this route to save time travelling along the coast as we have done that section of coast road in the past and it can take all day to just do 100 miles !
The road climbs steeply out of Senj clinging to the mountain in parts with spectacular views across the Dalmation coast. Hundreds of tiny islands floating in a sea sparkling with the early morning sun.
On to the motorway picking up the toll ticket we sat at a comfy three digit speed until, an hour or so later we turned off for Split. Paid 8.00 euros toll and began the decent down to Split and on to Trogir.
The research on camp sites that I undertook at home paid off again as we found the first site easily, trouble was it was a good mile down a very rough track so we opted for the unknown. An old Croation chap signalled us to show us that he had a small campsite in his front garden. Sounds barmy but it's true ! We pulled in and he proudly showed us around. Spotless facilities , walking distance to Trogir and all for 112 Kuna, bargain so we pitched up and then the chap reappears with two ice cold beers, what a reception !!
Had a walk down to the sea front, picked up some kuna and went for a bite to eat in a little pizzeria overlooking the harbour. An hour later and stuffed we strolled back up to the campsite had a cuppa and chilled then took a stroll along the sea front in the cool of the evening.
The plan tomorrow is to check out the town of Trogir .
Miles today - 195
Hours in saddle - 4
