After cold night the tent was wet with dew, it was just gone 7.00 and the kettle was on for a cuppa.
The campsite is right next to a large fast flowing river ( not sure of the name but I think it flows into Lake Bled) and in a large mature pine forrest so no chance of any morning sun.
I took a stroll up to the reception on the lookout for a shop so we could have breakfast. The site had a small shop that sold all the basics so we tucked in to fresh crusty bread and jam, can't be fussy when your hungary!
We had packed up and was on our way for 10.00 and decided to divert into Bled and take a look at the lake.
Bled is a nice town but busy with all the tourist, fortunately it was early in the day so the road around the lake was clear. We got snapping with the cameras and was back on route by 11.00
The sky was clear and blue and the temperature a comfortable 20 or so deg as we sped our way towards Ljublajana and after an hour or so we left the motorway heading for Rijeka and the Croatian coast.
The roads were great with good surface, brilliant deep sweeping bends and the scenery out of this world. This is what it's all about and the reason why we had just spent two shity cold wet days in the saddle!
After stopping for lunch we crossed the border into Croatia with just a quick flash of our passport.
We followed the coast road from Rijeka to Senj arriving at the campsite at a very early 3.30
We sat and chilled in the sun, checked out the tiny campsite beach before eating supper as the sun went down. What a fantastic end to a great day!
Miles -a measly 170
Hours in the saddle - a not enough
4.5 !!
