After a surprisingly peaceful sleep I woke to the sound of the village bell chiming 6 o'clock , the sun wasn't up and there was a nip in the air. Looking out the sky was clear so at least I could look at the bike in the dry. Any way we had a quick brew and lay in bed waiting for the sun to come.
Took the side off the bike to check the battery out and as I suspected the none standard battery that I had fitted with some home made connectors had a loose earth. I tightened things up and it just about fired up, let's hope it's just a low battery and that after a good days run it would sort itself out.
I taped the heat shield back in place with a strip of gaffer tape, fingers crossed it won't melt :) and just looked at the empty tax disc holder and chuckled , what a day. We stuffed some breakfast down and packed the tent away . With all the messing around with the bike it was gone 11.30 by the time we got under way, we might after change plans as there is no way we. could get to Croatia before dark.
the sun was out and the sky a beautiful blue as we sped towards the Alps. Bike running great and not a lot of traffic and we stopped at Salzburg for a late lunch and to fill up.
While eating the biggest pizza ever we decided to change plans and head for a camp site near lake Bled, Slovenia.
We climbed up to the foot of the Alps and then through that many tunnels I lost count but 16 euro,s and an hour is so later we arrived in Slovenia.
Pulling onto the campsite at about 6.30 we pitched next to the river in a large pine forrest with views over the mountains.
After a really crap start and a bad day yesterday today was the comets opposite. Sunny sky's , good roads and great views.
Tomorrow we will nip down to lake Bled for a couple of photos before heading for Crotia.
Miles 254
Hours in the saddle a measly 5 !
