Well that was a day from hell you couldn't write it !!!
Left hotel , cold and wet so we had all the gear on even the heated grips. Left the motorway for fuel and ended up taking the wrong turning half hour later back on track. Uneventful mind numbingly boring until we stopped for lunch. Got back to the bike and it wouldn't start, sounded like a dead battery except I had fitted a brand new one just prior to leaving home. We had no choice but to bump start it. Fully loaded and with only a very slight hill to go down I put Angie to work.
We just about got to walking speed and it fired up on the second attempt, looking on the positive side it warmed Angie up !
Carried on , still raining on and off and as we approached Munich we pulled up for petrol and yes you've guessed it it still wouldn't start so we bumped it again. This happened again at the next stop and we got it going on the flat thanks to the help of a couple of German bikers. We carried on with the heat shield from the pannier flapping in the wind and minus a tax disc thanks to the stormy weather.
It was getting late, still cold and wet with 70 miles to go. We decided to try and get to the campsite at Seeshaupt thinking that we could look at the bike in morning.
We arrive late about 8.00 pm and put the tent up as dark fell. Supper consisted of a packet of crisps and a petrol station sandwich washed down with mug of tea.
I eventually fell asleep wondering what the problem with the bike was and if we could get it to a BMW dealer zzzzzzz
Miles today 440
To long in the saddle !!
