Day 1 Birmingham to Liege via Eurotunnel.

Up at 4.00 am packed the bike and had a bite to eat. Dawn was just breaking as we set off with a heavy sky threatening rain. By the time we got to Oxford the sun was up and it broke through the cloud and mist just for a minute or two with a beautiful orange glow, if only I had a helmet cam.
Not long after the rain started and it tipped it down for a good half hour before settling into steady drizzle, it stayed that way for the rest of the journey to Folkestone.
We arrived at the station to find that trains had been cancelled earlier and this caused delays of about and hour , unless your on a bike ! They squeezed us and another couple of bikes on an we were underway by 10.10.
I had the usual chat to the other bikers who were traveling to The Black forrest for a week and explained that we were on our way to Turkey for five weeks. Half hour later we arrived in France and greeted by rain !
Uneventful trip down to Liege stopping for fuel and a bite to eat. Weather slowly improved and by the time we arrived at the hotel ( 4.30 local time ) the kit had dried out.
Miles - 402
Time in saddle - 6hrs 40 min
