Threw some stuff in the top box and of we went. Took the main highway out of Agios Nichalos for half hour then headed over the mountains and into the rain. Heavy and very windy. We had packed a couple of lightweight water proof tops in so that kept the worse off. Rain soon stopped and the roads dried out. The bike handled well for a hire machine, probably because it was fairly new and I soon started having some fun on the twisting mountain roads and tracks.
The sun was blazing as we headed back home, still in the mountains with wild flowers and herbs filling our helmets with that smell you only get from Greece.
Back by late afternoon we headed for the local taverna and a couple of beers in the sun.
Tomorrow if the weather is good we hope to visit the Lasithiou area , high up in the Dikti mountains.
