Mini tour of Europe - 21st September. Bled, Slovenia to Povis, Croatia.

Woke to a calm and mostly clear sky though the sun was hidden behind the densetree canopy that coverd the site. Angie opend her birthday cards over breakfast. Unable to shower or replenish the onboard water tanks due to a broken water main we packed up to leave. on checking out I complained and asked for a reduced rate as the site had no water. I got a measly 5% off !
We decided to drive into Bled and take a look round the lake, we've seen it on previous trips onthe bike so wouldn't spend too much time here.stopping at the far end of the lake we avoided a €10 car park ticket by talking nicely to the attendant,  explaining that we only wanted to take a few photos and would only be 10 minutes she letus park for free. The sun was out now with the day warming up nicley, it was tempting to linger but not wanting to take the piss we headed back to the van with photos sorted.
We picked up fresh bread for lunch and headed back to the motorway heading towards  Ljubljana before eventually leaving the motorways all together. Now driving small A roads the scenary improved as we followed rivers along leafy green valley's and pretty hamlets . We pulled in for lunch in the sun before continuing towards the border. Money exchange places sprung up and seemed to be round every corner.  We took advantage and pulled in changing  €100 worth at just over 7 kn to the € not bad I thought. Crossed over the Slovenia border then through the croatian one without any hassle other than showing both our passports. Strange to have a border with checks  as both countries are in the EU ?
We passed through Rijeka and picked up the busy coast road ,keeping our eyes open for a good campsite. After around an hour we came across Autokamp Povile, just outside the village right on the beach. We missed the turning but eventually found somewhere to turn back and pulled onto the site. It was a little tired and had seen better days but the location was perfect. We found a pitch easily,  facing south and out to the sea with nice views and not on top of other vans. We settled in thinking we may stay put for a day or two.
