Strong wind had set in by late yesterday evening and we shut the pop up roof down just as it started to rain. It blew a gale most of the night and it was still going when the dawn broke. The sky was heavy with rain and it fell on and off till mid morning. Still can't complain as it's the first proper rain we've had in 14 days !
Decided to make a move so packed up, filled the water tanks and set off around 11.00
We first had a short detour to look at some local beaches that we hadn't yet sen before returning to Gairloch and stopping for a walk up the the well known waterfall on the Gairloch estate. Only a short walk of around 1 1/2 hrs then back to the van stopping for lunch just outside of Inverewe.
It was getting late in the afternoon when we happend on chance to pass a Scottish forestry commission site with yet another water fall , Rogie Falls. As we don't need to be anywhere for any time we thought why not and pulled in again.
Great water fall and only a 20 minute walk from the car park.
Back to the van again and it was now gone 5.30 so we decided to find a suitable spot for the night. Not long after we found another forestry commission site , Contin. We pulled in to find a long half mile track up to a picnic site overlooking the surrounding mixed forest and hills in the distance. The sun was shining , birds singing and with only two other motor homes parked up it was very peaceful so we settled in for the night.
Miles today 68.
