Woke to a calm sunny morning with , thankfully, no wind. We packed up and went out foe the day. Heading along the coast road we stopped at a well known view point overlooking the coast line towards San Miguel De Capo De Gata.
Beautiful unspoilt views streched out over the cliffs and sea with Spanish broom starting to flower it was a sight worth stopping for. After taking that view I we wound are way along the coast road then headed inland for a while. Passing a petrol station I considered filling up but then decided against it after seeing the price €1.20 a ltr, sod that ! It was a decision that I would later regret.
We found a nice spot on the beach , looking south and chilled in the sun, had lunch and chilled some more. Had a walk along the beach , returned for afternoon tea and chilled some more.
Before we new it the sun was almost down so we started to pack up discussing how we would much prefer "wild camping" in days like this. To sit and watch the sun go down at the end of the day and then see it rise again in the same place the following morning, must sort the new van out when we get home !
Started the van up and the fuel warning light came on accompanied with a loud buzz that soon spoilt the moment, why didn't fill up when I had chance ?
Local stations now closed I followed the sat nav to the next nearest station hoping that it would be open. 20 miles and half hour later we found it and it was open! Filled up at €1.16 ltr and smiling at my self for saving € 0.04 a later Ange reminded me of the 20 miles we had done to find it, I still smiled.
It was pitch black when we got back to the campsite but we managed to pitch ok. Great day out and the van looks like it's averaging 41.5 miles to the gallon since leaving home, not bad with 180 k on the clock!
