Woke at the absurdly early hour of 4.30 am ! Had a quick drink and left the service station aire at 5.00
Roads completely empty even Bayonne was deserted as we passed through and by 7.30 we arrived at the little village of Sare in the foothills. We pulled in to empty waste tanks and fill up with fresh water, had breakfast and 40 winks before setting off again at 9.00
Soon passing into Spain the mountains started to peak out of the mist, roads clear with only a dusting of snow on the peaks. Sun broke through as we reached Pamplona and stopped for provisions at a good old Aldi !
By mid day the sky's had cleared completely and we turned the cab heating off for the first time this trip.
Still warm in the sun we drove through several miles if road that had seen a lot if snow with drifts a foot high in parts until we started to decend towards Gilet when it really warmed up.
Got to the aire at 5.40 just as the sun set.
Great days drive covering 432 miles.
