16th February - Las Negras

Needed supplies so we got up and out early to shop in Almeria.
Shopping done we thought we would stay out and explore the coastal national park of  cabo de Gata a little more. The park is so unspoilt and feels like your driving through a spaggetti western film set !
We headed for La Negras,  a small fishing village that is reported to be worth a visit.
Just before Las Negras we passed a sign for camping , called in and checked it out. A well presented site and definitely one to remember for next year- La Caleta.
The village of Las Negras is a small place , a colection of white washed houses nestled in the hillside and following the river ( dry at the time of our visit) to the sea. We stayed for a couple of hours eating lunch before moving on.
We still had a couple of hours of daylight left so we continued along the coast heading back towards Almeria, then turnef of down an unsurfaced road to Playa del Playzo. What a great find, beautiful beach , unspoilt without a building in sight other than an old fortress that looked to be Moorish in age. We hung around for a while before eventuly headin back to the campsite.
So much to see along this coastline,  will have to see if we can fit in another visit, mind you only a week left before we have to head for home !!
