Day 36 - Leige, Belgium to Birmingham, UK

Can't believe it but the last day is here. Just 400 miles or so and we will be back home. Time really does fly when your enjoying life. The weather stayed dry all the way but it was very cold, so much so that we pulled in after an hour or so to grab a coffee to try and warm up. It helped a little but it made us late for the train so we had to hang around for a couple of hours till they could fit us in. We got through customs without any problems they asked what had happened to Angie's original passport and then kept hold of the emergency one saying that its procedure, £95.00 for a one shot passport !
We left Folkestone at about 1.50pm heading for the M25, then the fun started. Overhead signs indicated that traffic was heavy between junction 7 and 10. Traffic was actually at a standstill and we spent a good two hours filtering through until I had had enough and left at Junction 9 and worked away around to get back on at junction 10 only to find that it was closed again. We eventually hot home at 6.30 tired and frozen.
We passes time on the motorway chatting about the trip. We agreed that we had seen and had so much fun that it was hard to pick out the best bits. But some of the highlights were Istanbul. Amazing city well worth the visit. The ride through Central Turkey was one if the best days rides of the trip with fantastic roads and scenery. The south coast of Turkey was stunningly beautiful apart from the tourist areas. The worse part was Angie's passport going missing but it was also the best as it made us change plans and we discovered great areas of Greece. We met fantastic people along the way, some real characters that will stay in our memory's for years to come.
The bike performed better than expected apart from the battery problem, which to be fair is my fault entirely. I will update the blog over the next couple of days to give the final stats on mileage and fuel use ect.
Miles to day - 411
Hours in the saddle - a but numbing 9
