Day 31 - Plataria, Greece to Igumentsia port, Greece.

Well it's here, the last day in the sun. We took the opportunity to catch up with the laundry and the took a little run into the town. Sat eating gyros while looking out at the port with all the ferries coming and going. Late afternoon we had our last swim and soaked up a bit more sun. It would be great if we could take it with us as I'm sure we will need it in the week ahead!
We took our time packing the tent ,making sure it was well dry for the journey home. Nothing worse than unpacking a smelly wet tent, we've done it so many times we can do it blindfolded but it's the first time that we've had to pick squashed olives of the groundsheet !
I paid the camp fee and thanked George the owner for a great time and we rode off at 7.30.
The plan was to check in with the ticket agent then look for somewhere to eat. Check in took minutes so by 8.00 we sat eating looking out over the port. We couldn't board until 10.30 so we plenty of time to kill. Rode into the port at 10.15 to find a massive que off cars, camper vans and artics and as we sat there I wondered how on earth they would all fit in. The ferry was late docking but within minutes things started to move . I noticed a couple of bikes board first which is unusual in my experience so we quickly nipped to the front handed over the tickets and rode up the ramp. I've never seen a ferry so large. It had several decks for vehicles and the ramps up to each level could take even the largest artic with ease. We where shown to a dedicated bike area and unloaded the gear we would need. I asked the deck hand who would lash the bike down , he said he would do it no problem. We walked off hoping that he wouldn't forget !!
The bike was parked on level 7 and we found our way up to the lounge area on level 10 to look for somewhere to get our heads down. We found a comfy sofa in the corner wondering if any one would comment when a couple sat near to us , rolled out a couple of sleeping bags. Angie fell asleep straight away but I sat dozing.
Miles today - a not worth mentioning 15
Hours in the saddle - 20 minutes !
