Day 3 Seeshaupt, Germany to Senj, Croatia.

Up early again only this time we had the tent to pack away and after a heavy dew it was soaking. Took a while but by 9.00 we were on route heading for Croatia. The weather was dry and sunny but very cold so yet again we had our wet gear on to try and stay warm. Satnav decided to throw a wobbler and lost the route details so after an hour of crawling around small farm tracks we got onto the motorway heading for Saltzberg. Riding motorways is a very dull way to travel but a necessity if we want to get into the warmer weather as quick as we can. That said the views became better as we sped towards the Alps.
Stopped for fuel and sorted out the vignette's for Austria ( €7.50 ) and Slovenia ( €4.50 )
Not bad for 10 days travel.
Sat nav was now behaving itself and we sat at a steady 130kph for hours as the traffic was so light. Stopped off for a bite to eat and enjoyed a very strange german sausage thing with fried chunks of potato, we new it as sausage and chips but with a very heavy dose of salt !!
Back on the road Austria came and went as we sped through tunnels carved through the mountains, not only quick but a welcome relief from the biting cold as they were so warm. This was the first time we had used this route,in the past we have always chosen to go over the mountain passes and as beautiful and challenging as they are we decided to give them a miss this time.
Slovenia was the end of the line as far as this motorway was concerned and we followed a snaking road for several miles heading for Rupa on the Croatian border.
