Dawn broke with yet another sunny day but a strong breeze was blowing in from the sea. We fancied getting out and about so packed up and headed for Agua Armaga, a seaside village recommended by a friend of a friend who had moved out to Spain several years ago. Only a 30 min drive up the coast through some of the best scenery for a while. We passed pretty ,unspoilt ,traditional Spanish hamlets and villages with Almond trees in full blossom before ariving in Agua, beautiful fishing village that has taken on board tourism but not over the top with high rise blocks like so many other areas in Spain.
We spent an hour walking along the desserted beach and through the narrow streets lined with pots and planters all in flower before heading back to the van.
Carrying on up the coast road we found a pull in for Muertos beach, had a bite to eat before packing the rucksack and walking down the steep rocky cliff path to the beach. Well worth the effort to get here it was mostly empty, beautiful stretch of sand with deep blue sea crashing in only spoilt by the strong cool wind. We found a spot sheltered from the wind and dozed I the sun until it disappeared behind the cliff tops.
After steep climb back to the van and refreshed with a cupa we moved on to explore a view point and castle, waymarked from the coast road. It was a steep drive up a windy track to reach the top and the views that greeted us took your breath away.
Unsure on whether to stay and watch the sun go down or head back I decided on the later, regreting not staying all the way back to the campsite . When we get the new van things will be different, you could have easily wild camped I this spot.
