3rd February, Gilet to Almeria

Didnt realise when we pulled in last night just what a great camping spot this is. Its on the outskirts of the village on a dead end road the services a monastery and a country park. We had a quiet night with only the owls to disturb the silence.
Sun was up and rather than rush off we had a little look around after breakfast. Mostly pine forest but where ever there were gaps in the tree cover large cactus grew along with numerous other wild plants just starting to flower including Lavender and its early February !
Time to go , we got underway around 10.00  and started to join the heavy goods vehicles that use this route to travel along the coast between  Valencia , Alicante and Almeria. The wind was very strong and took the edge off an otherwise enjoyable section of road. Turning off the main highway and into Almeria the temperature outside the  chemist read 26 deg  YES !
We pulled into the site , La Garrofa, at around 16.00. The site was fairly busy and the pitches we had hoped to use had all been taken. Found a spot to tide us over and would keep an eye on the "better" one and move into it as soon as it was free.
Stuck the kettle on , made a brew and took it down to the beach to enjoy the last of the days rays.
This is the life.
Milage ? Cant remeber !!
