It's so quiet and peaceful here after the hustle and bustle of Istanbul. Don't get me wrong , we had a fantastic time there but in a different sort of way.
Adrasan seems to be mainly visited by Turks. Apart from ourselves I have only heard one other English and one German couple which probably explains the lack of larger louts. We decided to stay for another couple of nights, we should still have time for a leisurely ride up the coast. In any case the temperatures are set to stay hot and we don't want to be on the road much after midday.
I had a chat with the the guy who owns the place ( can't pronounce his name let alone spell it !) and paid him for the extra nights . He asked in very broken English if Angie and I would like to go with him in his boat fishing. Well I couldn't stop giggling. Those that know Angie will know that she just doesn't do little boats and it also means another fish supper !
The bike proved difficult to start yesterday. After breakfast I removed the side panel and checked the battery again.
It seems that with the very rough roads the terminal is vibrating loose. I retightened it and it started OK but I'm not sure if it will get us home.
Bike sorted we walked down to the bay, now almost deserted as the weekend Turkish visitors have left. A strong hot wind blew in from the sea, whipping it up, it was choppy and I wondered about the guy going fishing in these condition, must be mad.
The day drifted by in that lazy holiday sort of way when late in the afternoon the guy turned up with his fishing gear, loaded the boat and with the help of some young Turkish girls and another old bloke they launch the boat. Mmmm fresh fish for supper Angie ! :)
supper is usually ready around 8.00 so we went out at 7.30 and sat drinking tea. After half an hour or so we started to wonder were everyone was. Not long after the guy who runs the place turns up apologising that he had caught some fish but had then fell asleep for hours. His wife didn't seem to impressed especially as it was obvious he was half pissed! He stumbled off into the house and the reappeared five minutes later with soup for the starter. Slurring as he spoke he told us that his wife is going to cook her speciality instead of having fish.
we ended up completely stuffed full of the most delicious traditional Turkish supper washed down with Raki !
