Day 15 - Antalya, Turkey to Adrasan, Turkey,

After a reasonable nights sleep we skipped breakfast made do with a brew then got onto the road by 8.00
We retraced our steps out of the resort looking for the camp site but could see no sign of it. Must have closed or they have posted the wrong GPS coordinates on the web.
On the main D400 the views were great, massive mountains inland bearing down on you with the sea on our right, we worked , slowly up the coast. After a short while the road turned inland with a minor road bearing right and down to the coast . It was signposted as leading to Apollo, some ancient roman ruins, so on a whim we turned off and followed the narrow, twisting road down to the coast. It ran for a good 15 mile but was so twisting and bumpy that it must have taken nearly half an hour. Looking between the gaps in the pone clad mountains we could see the bright blue of the sea slowly come into view. We must have descended a 1000 foot by the time we got to sea level. Turning the corner we were greeted by a stunningly beautiful cove nestled between to small mountains. It wasn't commercialised other than a couple of handfuls of eating places with adverts for rooms.
Spotting a couple of tents in the shade we pulled over, parked up and had a walk round. An old Turkish chap showed us the "camping" pointing at a wooden platform raised of the floor by about three feet with a tatty looking rug thrown down over the timber. Now I'm the first to try something different but sleeping in the open on a couple of pallets balancing I'm the air is not my cup of tea. We thanked him and moved on.
We then came across a small restaurant with six timber chalets in the grounds. A none English speaking lady came over and we tried to communicate with out much luck. She offers us a seat in the shade along with Turkish style tea. The tea ( served without milk in small handleless glass cups with lots of sugar ) was great and as we drank a Turkish guy appears and welcomes us in German ! Fortunately he could also speak a little English. Angie checked out the wooden chalets with the lady while I did a deal with guy. We ended up agreeing a very good rate for the room breakfast and evening meal for two nights. We unloaded, unpacked and headed for the beach just over the road.
We spent the afternoon on the beach sunbathing, swimming and just chilling.
The guy who ran the place we were staying at appeared with his mate, pushed out a small motor boat and went to catch our supper.
I was a little concerned as Angie doesn't really do fish but the supper was fantastic, freshly caught sea fish, barbecued with salad and more melon than you could possibly eat.
Great end to a great day.
Miles to day - a measly,brain melting 47 !
Hours in saddle 2 !!!
