Day 21 - we hit the road again.

I woke to the sound of the call to morning prayer reminding me that we are far from home. I lay listening, reflecting on the past week. It had been great. Bev & Mel made us feel so welcome and at ease I soon found myself in holiday mode. But sadly all good things come to an end and I reluctantly climbed out of bed.
We had breakfast and packed the bike both of us in a strange mood. We then sat drinking tea until 11.00 but it was no good we had to bite the bullet and leave. We said our fair wells and hit the road. Normally after a day or two off the bike I can't wait to get going again but even after a week I found myself unable to get back into it. We rode on for a couple of hours in silence until just before Izmar we pulled over for petrol and water. We sat chatting and eating ice cream in the shade it was in the low 30's and about 1ish. Feeling not much better we climbed back on the bike and I popped the MP3 on to try and cheer us up. As we approached the city I was determined not to get us stuck on the wrong road again. I needn't have worried as we easily found our way through the chaos. As we climbed the hill out of the city on the D550 we narrowly escaped our first run in with the local white van man. Moving in the outside lane of three lanes I followed a small white van for a couple of miles stopping and starting with all the lights. I felt uneasy with his driving style so slowed down and pulled over to the centre lane. A set of lights ahead went to red and I slowed down. The driver of the van that I had been behind must have been miles away or on his mobile as he did not notice. In a split second he realised , braked hard locking it up and skidded towards us in the centre lane. I had spotted this and was heading for an escape when he lost it altogether and skidded around on himself hitting the outside kerb in a puff of smoke. With adrenalin pumping and fully alert we carried on. You certainly need eyes up your backside to drive over here. The ride was pretty much uneventful as we retraced our steps back to Coruk. Sky is a little hazy but still hot, we pulled in to Coruk and the campsite about 5.00
