Day 12 into Turkey !

Woke to the noise of the traffic coming from the nearby main road. Lay for a while thinking on staying or moving on. Our minds made up we decided to move on. The campsite is not bad but only for a stop over. Packed and on the road for 9.50 the traffic not bad getting out of the city, we were soon back on the E90 heading for the border crossing at Kipi.
Sun shone without a cloud in the sky and I noticed the amount of armed forces both on the road and stationed about, another sign of getting close to Turkey I guess.
The motorway ran out at the border and I took a deep breath and thought here we go !
First stop was at the Greek kiosk, I stopped to hand our passports to a Greek officer but he just grunted and signed us to go through. Across about 100 mts or so to the next group of kiosks. I handed the passports to a young Turkish lad in uniform and he asked for "papers for moto" I gave him my green card and registration papers. He then entered some details on to the computer and handed them back but kept hold of the passport, checking through studying each entry. I was starting to get a little worried when he gave them back ,pointed at another kiosk saying " visa ". We parked the bike up and found the visa kiosk. An old chap sat inside and appeared as happy as larry, we gave him the passports and he gave us sweets ! Then stuck the visa in each passports asking us for 30 lira. We paid up and he sent us back to the first kiosk. The lad checked and sent us to the next kiosk with a pointing finger and " customs " Off to the next one , we joined a small line of cars. A sign in several languages asked to show passports, insurance and registration documents for vehicles. We patiently waited while the customs guy checked out the boot of the car in front. I hoped that they did not want to do the same with us. Not that we had anything to hide but it would be a pain in the arse unstraping everything. I needn't have worried as he looked at the paperwork for a second stamped and signed the passport and said OK. Not over yet, we rode to the last check point. A guy checked over the paperwork again and that was it, half an hour from start to finish and we rode into Turkey !
