Well after a lot of thought and planning the date has been set, Angie and I will leave on September 3rd 2010 heading for Didim on the south west coast of Turkey to meet up with our friends and celebrate Angie's big birthday in the sun. Insurance and breakdown cover sorted, channel tunnel ticket booked. See map for rough route, this will be rough as we often end up going off route if something takes our fancy and with over a month off work we have plenty of time.
We will be camping most of the way and the BMW R1150RT has had a couple of minor changes with extra racks fitted to take the gear needed for the extended trip.
I've fully serviced the bike and treated it to another set of tyres, this time trying BT023 , the replacemnt for the BT021, will let you know how they perform in due course.
Brought new gear to try and keep cool once we get down south,HeinGericke Air 3 two piece suits with cold black treatment to the material. What's the betting that we freeze for the first couple of days !!
